Assembly Operatives / Fitters

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble metal framework, panels, enclosures, and busbar systems.
• Read drawings, assembly instructions, and specifications.
• Use hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and workshop machinery safely.
• Fit and align components to required tolerances.
• Carry out quality checks throughout the assembly process.
• Report defects, shortages, and manufacturing issues.
• Maintain high housekeeping and health & safety standards.
• Work effectively within a production team to achieve daily output targets.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing process.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous assembly, fitting, manufacturing, or production experience.
• Ability to read and understand drawings.
• Experience using hand tools such as a spanner and a screwdriver
• Good attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.

Working Conditions

• Factory/manufacturing environment.
• Standing for prolonged periods.

FULL TRAINING IS PROVIDED – HOWEVER CANDIDATES MUST BE COMFORTABLE USING HAND TOOLS SUCH AS SPANNERS AND SCREWDRIVERS

Working Hours

Monday – Thursday 7am-4pm & Friday 7am-12:30pm

OR

Monday – Thursday 8am-5pm & Friday 8am-1:30pm

Pay Rate:

£12.71 per hour

£19.07 per hour for the first 8 hours overtime per week

£25.42 per hour for any hours after 8 hours overtime per week
