JDR Recruitment are recruiting for experienced Production Operatives to work for a manufacturing company based in Middleton, M24

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate manufacturing machinery and production equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Load raw materials into machines and monitor production processes.
  • Cut, assemble, bond, trim, and package mats according to specifications.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional quality checks on finished products.
  • Identify and report defects, equipment faults, or production issues.
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
  • Pack finished goods and prepare them for dispatch.
  • Ensure work areas are kept clean, organised, and free from hazards.
  • Follow all company health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Assist with stock movement and material handling as required.
  • Work closely with team members and supervisors to achieve production targets.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the factory.

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or warehouse environment.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Good attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

  • Experience operating manufacturing machinery.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations within a factory environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and move materials in line with manual handling guidelines.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with machinery and noise.
  • Ability to carry out repetitive tasks while maintaining quality standards.

Health & Safety

  • Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Report accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Participate in safety training and toolbox talks.

Shift Pattern

Monday – Friday rotating 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm and 10pm-6am – must be able to work all 3 shifts

Pay Rate

6am-2pm – £13.08 per hour

2pm – 10pm – 13.08 per hour for 5.5 hours & £14.14 for 2 hours per shift

10pm-6am – £14.14 per hour

Once candidates are fully trained and permanent, the pay rate will increase to £15.17 per hour for all shifts.
