Dyce, Aberdeen £18.50 per hour Contract Role with View to Permanent

JDR Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client in Dyce for an experienced Supply Chain Co-ordinator to join their team on an initial contract basis, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position.

This is an excellent opportunity for a purchasing professional with a strong supply chain background, ideally gained within the Oil & Gas sector, who enjoys working closely with engineering and workshop teams in a fast-paced environment.

The Role

As Supply Chain Co-ordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the procurement function, ensuring materials and services are sourced efficiently and delivered on time to meet operational requirements.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing purchasing activities using the company’s MRP system
• Liaising closely with Engineering and Workshop departments to understand procurement requirements
• Raising enquiries and obtaining quotations from suppliers
• Evaluating supplier quotations and supporting purchasing decisions
• Raising and processing Purchase Orders
• Conducting weekly expediting activities to ensure orders are delivered within agreed timescales
• Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships
• Monitoring supplier performance and resolving supply issues as they arise
• Ensuring procurement activities are carried out efficiently and in line with company procedures

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Proven experience in a purchasing, procurement or supply chain role
• A strong background within the Oil & Gas industry
• Experience working with MRP systems
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• The ability to build effective relationships across multiple departments and with external suppliers
• A proactive and level-headed approach to problem-solving
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage priorities effectively
