Hygiene Operative / Forklift Truck Driver (FLT) – Cold Storage Warehouse

Location: Wisbech
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm (30-minute unpaid break)
Paid Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Pay: £12.92 per hour (Hygiene Duties) | £14.84 per hour (FLT Duties)

JDR Recruitment is recruiting for a Hygiene Operative with a valid Forklift Truck (FLT) licence to join a busy cold storage warehouse in Wisbech.

This is a varied role where you’ll primarily be responsible for maintaining high standards of hygiene throughout the warehouse. When required, you’ll also support the warehouse operation by operating a forklift to load and unload vehicles.

The Role

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Removing ice build-up throughout the warehouse

• Sweeping floors and maintaining a clean, safe working environment

• Emptying and replacing bin bags

• Carrying out general hygiene and housekeeping duties

• Operating a forklift truck to load and unload goods when required

• Supporting the warehouse team during busy periods

• Working safely within a cold storage/freezer environment

• Following all health and safety procedures and site hygiene standards

Pay Rates

• £12.92 per hour whilst carrying out hygiene duties

• £14.84 per hour when operating the forklift

• If you spend more than four hours operating the forklift during a shift, you’ll be paid £14.84 per hour for your entire shift

What We’re Looking For

• A valid Counterbalance and/or Reach Forklift Truck licence (RTITB, ITSSAR, AITT or equivalent)

• Previous warehouse or industrial experience

• Comfortable working in a cold storage/freezer environment

• A reliable, hardworking and flexible approach

• Willingness to carry out both hygiene and forklift duties as required

• Good awareness of health and safety procedures
