JDR Recruitment (Mansfield) are working in partnership with a leading retailer based in Newark to recruit for a number of 7.5 Tonne Delivery Drivers to join their growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering white goods such as washing machines, fridges, cookers, and dishwashers directly to customers’ homes. This is a customer-facing position, so excellent communication and a positive attitude are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely drive a 7.5 tonne vehicle to complete scheduled home deliveries
• Deliver and position white goods in customers’ homes with care
• Work as part of a two-person delivery team when required
• Provide excellent customer service at every delivery
• Complete daily vehicle checks and ensure compliance with road safety regulations
• Accurately complete delivery paperwork and use handheld devices where required
• Handle goods carefully to prevent damage during loading, transport, and delivery

Requirements

• Valid Category C1 (7.5T) driving licence – max 6 points, no DDI
• Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card – new pass is accepted
• Previous experience in multi-drop or home delivery (preferred but not essential)
• Good level of physical fitness (heavy lifting involved)
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Friendly, professional attitude when dealing with customers

This role is also subject to a pre-employment criminal record check which will be carried out prior to the assignment and all candidates are required to disclose any criminal convictions beforehand. A drug and alcohol test will also be carried out during the driving assesment.

Shift Pattern

The Company offers a rota to all colleagues, providing them with consistent shifts. The shift pattern is a 5 on, 3 off shift rota. Therefore, candidates must be aware that some weekend working will be required. Only candidates able to commit to a 5 on, 3 off shift pattern should apply.

Hours of Work:

Shifts start at 7am and typically last between 8-10 hours, depending on routing, traffic, etc.

Pay Rate

This role pays £13.60 per hour, increasing from April and paid weekly in arrears. Overtime is paid at time and a half for all hours worked after 45 hours per week, with regular overtime available.

Induction / Start Date

The induction for this wave of new starters will be carried out on Thursday 26th March 2026 at 11am, and we are looking for candidates who can start work straight away following this induction. Please only apply if you are able and willing to start work on rota immediately. The induction is paid, following completion of your first shift.
