Cleaner with DBS check

Role Purpose

To maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment throughout the school, ensuring classrooms, communal areas, and facilities are presented to a high standard for pupils, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

General Cleaning Duties

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors.
• Dust and wipe all surfaces, including desks, shelves, and equipment.
• Clean windows, glass panels, and internal doors where required.
• Empty bins and dispose of waste safely and appropriately.
• Replenish consumables such as soap, paper towels, toilet rolls.
• Report any damage, hazards, or maintenance issues to the Site Manager.

Toilets & Washrooms

• Clean and disinfect toilets, sinks, cubicles, and washroom surfaces.
• Ensure washrooms are stocked and hygienic throughout the shift.

Classrooms, Offices & Hallways

• Clean desks, chairs, and touchpoints (door handles, light switches).
• Vacuum carpets and clean hard floors.
• Wipe whiteboards and tidy general areas as required.

Kitchens, Dining Areas & Staff Rooms

• Wipe tables, counters, and food preparation areas.
• Remove food waste and clean floors.
• Maintain hygiene standards in line with school policies.

Person Specification

• Previous cleaning experience (school or commercial environment beneficial).
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Understanding of basic cleaning procedures and safe use of chemicals.
• Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
• Good understanding of health & safety and hygiene standards.
• Enhanced DBS check

Shift Times & Pay Rate

• Monday – Friday 3:30pm – 7:30pm
• £13.21 per hour
