CNC Machinist (Milling) and CNC Machinist (Turning & Milling)

JDR Recruitment are recruiting for Permanent CNC Machinist (Milling) and CNC Machinist (Turning & Milling)

Location: Irlam (M44)

Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 (depending on experience)

Hours:

• Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm

• Friday: 7:30am – 3:00pm

JDR Recruitment are seeking experienced CNC professionals to join a well-established engineering operation on a permanent basis. These roles are based in Irlam with no relocation required.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Programming, setting, and operating CNC milling and/or turning machines

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, including GD&T

• Editing and proving ISO programs

• Setting tool registers, offsets, cutter compensation, and reference points

• Working with chucks, collets, vices, vacuum beds, trunnions, and bar feeders

• Conducting first-off inspections and in-process quality checks

• Troubleshooting machining issues and optimising programs

• Completing production and quality documentation

• Supporting continuous improvement and maintaining high safety standards

Experience Required

• FANUC milling and/or turning experience

• Doosan EZ Guide programming experience

• Edgecam software experience

• Milling and/or turning background

• 5-axis milling experience desirable

• Driven tool turning experience advantageous

• Ability to read, understand, and edit ISO programs

• Experience with live tooling advantageous

• Experience machining composites beneficial

• PTFE machining knowledge advantageous

• CMM experience beneficial

• Time served apprenticeship or minimum 3 years’ experience

• HNC/HND in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering preferred
