We’re looking for a proactive and hands-on Facilities Team Leader, based at our client in YATTON to oversee the day-to-day maintenance and smooth running of our site. This role combines leadership with practical skills, requiring someone who can manage a small team while also getting involved in maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing and supporting electrical work.

The has a large car park, but is also accessible by public transport from both Weston-super-Mare and Bristol.

Location: Yatton

Hours: 8am – 4pm Monday to Friday

Salary: Competitive (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise and support the facilities team to ensure high standards of service delivery
  • Plan and prioritise maintenance schedules, both reactive and preventative
  • Carry out hands-on maintenance tasks, including:
    • Basic plumbing repairs (e.g. leaks, blockages, fixture replacements)
    • General building maintenance (carpentry, painting, minor repairs)
  • Support and oversee minor electrical works (e.g. replacing fittings, fault identification), ensuring compliance with safety regulations
  • Coordinate and manage external contractors when required
  • Ensure all work complies with health & safety regulations and company policies
  • Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and compliance checks
  • Monitor stock levels of tools, materials, and spare parts
  • Act as the first point of contact for facilities-related issues and emergencies
  • Drive continuous improvement in facilities processes and standards

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a facilities, maintenance, or building services role
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Strong practical skills, particularly in:
    • Basic plumbing (essential)
    • Electrical knowledge (desirable, not necessarily qualified electrician level)
  • Good understanding of health & safety regulations
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Confident communicator with the ability to liaise with internal teams and external contractors
  • Flexible, hands-on approach with a willingness to get involved

Qualifications (Desirable)

  • Relevant trade qualification (e.g. plumbing, electrical, or building maintenance)
