We are looking for an experienced Fleet Manager to join our growing client in Weston Super Mare

Competitive salary as well as company car allowance

Immediate start

Previous experience within similar role required

Monday to Friday 40 hours per week

Permanent contract (12 months initially)

JDR is recruiting for a reliable and hardworking Fleet Manager to join a highly reputable client of ours in the Weston Super Mare area.

The role:

As a Fleet Manager your duties will be as followed:

  • Ensuring all operations in relation to transport are carried out in a compliant manner and updating the internal database as appropriate.
  • Encourage a safe working environment, ensuring teams are in accordance with legislation, safe systems of work, monitoring and trend analysis.
  • Ensure records and systems are maintained and are accurate and compliant with company standards.
  • Manage recruitment in line with agreed targets.
  • Work in partnership with operations team to ensure sufficient vehicle, plant and equipment allocation.
  • Ensure the work equipment are always operated in a safe manner and in line with manufacturers guidelines.
  • Be responsible for inducting and training team members, as well as supporting future training as well when changes come into effect.
  • Ensure all Company policies, procedures and legal obligations are understood and adhered to by all staff members. Conduct disciplinary hearings up to and including dismissal.
  • Manage the team and activities of the Commercial Vehicle Workshop facility, ensuring the fleet is fully maintained according to statutory regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Develop appropriate KPIs.
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks that may be set by the company.

About you:

As a Fleet Manager you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Certified transport manager (CPC National)
  • Fleet management and/or vehicle maintenance background
  • Experience of HR processes
  • Experience of producing and analysing reports using Microsoft Suite and internal IT systems
  • Up to date knowledge of legislation in vehicle maintenance and operator licensing
  • Market knowledge (this must be demonstrable)
  • Experience of goods vehicle management (CPC, Tacho, RTD)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Flexible working approach
