General Operative

JDR are working with a client seeking a General Operative to support day-to-day manufacturing operations within a fast-paced production environment.


FUNCTION

As a General Operative, you will be responsible for carrying out daily manufacturing tasks to ensure products are produced safely, accurately, and to the required quality standards.

You will follow instructions, recipes, and procedures carefully, contributing to the achievement of production targets while maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene at all times.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out assigned production tasks (e.g. mixing support, depositing, packing, labelling, palletising).
  • Operate machinery safely in line with training provided.
  • Follow approved recipes, work instructions, and production schedules.
  • Ensure products meet required quality standards before progressing to the next stage.
  • Complete basic production and traceability documentation accurately.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and housekeeping within your work area.
  • Adhere to all food safety, health & safety, and operational procedures.
  • Report equipment faults, quality issues, or safety concerns promptly to a supervisor.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve daily production targets.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Basic understanding of written and spoken English (sufficient to follow instructions and complete documentation).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to follow instructions and adhere to safety procedures.
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible with shift patterns where required.
  • Physically capable of standing for extended periods and carrying out manual tasks (within safe handling guidelines).
