Health & Safety Manager

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000

Location: Newport

Full-time | Monday to Friday rota’d between 08:00 to 19:00

Are you an experienced Health & Safety professional looking for a role where your expertise genuinely influences how a growing organisation operates?

This is an opportunity to take ownership of health, safety and fire compliance across a dynamic, multi‑site environment. You’ll play a central role in shaping standards, embedding best practice and supporting leaders to create a safe, compliant and confident workforce.

If you’re motivated by responsibility, visibility, and the chance to improve systems rather than just maintain them, this role offers exactly that.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Health & Safety Manager, you’ll operate as the go‑to expert for all health and safety matters, working closely with senior leadership and site teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing, implementing and continuously improving health & safety policies and procedures
  • Leading regular audits, inspections and risk assessments across sites
  • Overseeing fire safety compliance, including Fire Risk Assessments
  • Delivering engaging health & safety training to managers and employees
  • Investigating incidents and accidents, ensuring learning and prevention are embedded
  • Advising and influencing managers to elevate safety culture across the business
  • Staying ahead of legislative updates and ensuring full compliance

This is a role with real autonomy and influence, reporting directly into senior management.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be an established Health & Safety professional who is confident working independently and influencing at all levels.

Essential requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ recent experience in a Health & Safety Management role
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
  • NEBOSH National Fire Certificate
  • COSHH training
  • Proven experience implementing and monitoring Fire Risk Assessments
  • Strong working knowledge of UK health & safety legislation
  • Confident communicator with experience delivering training and leading investigations

What You’ll Get in Return

This role is designed to attract and retain high‑calibre professionals by offering both stability and progression:

  • Competitive salary between £40,000 and £45,000
  • Structured personal learning and development support
  • Clear internal progression opportunities in a growing organisation
  • Employee referral rewards
  • Discounts for friends and family
  • Free on‑site parking
  • Full‑time, weekday working pattern (40 hours per week, rota between 08:00-19:00)

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Genuine influence over safety strategy, not just compliance
  • A business investing in growth, systems and people
  • High visibility role working closely with leadership
  • Scope to develop, modernise and leave a lasting legacy

If you’re ready to take the next step in your Health & Safety career and want a role where your expertise is valued and heard, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.
