Key Operative: Mixing

JDR are working with a client seeking a Key Operative: Mixing to take responsibility for a critical production area within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.


FUNCTION

As a Key Mixing Operative, you will have overall responsibility for the effective running of the mixing section. You will ensure the accurate weigh-up and mixing of recipes, maintain full compliance with food safety and traceability requirements, and take ownership of performance standards, reporting systems, and section KPIs.

You will act as the responsible person for the area during your shift, ensuring consistency, quality, and operational efficiency.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take full responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of all mixing equipment within your section.
  • Ensure all ingredients are accurately weighed and allocated in line with approved recipes and production schedules.
  • Maintain full traceability and production records, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately and on time within internal systems.
  • Monitor section performance against agreed KPIs (e.g. accuracy, yield, downtime, waste, quality compliance) and escalate issues promptly.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues within the mixing area, taking ownership of corrective actions.
  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety, quality, and health & safety standards at all times.
  • Support the training and development of other operatives within the mixing area to ensure consistent standards.
  • Communicate effectively with Production, Technical, and Maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the section, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance quality.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience within a production or food manufacturing environment (mixing experience highly desirable).
  • Strong understanding of recipe control, accuracy, and traceability requirements.
  • Ability to take ownership and responsibility for a production area.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills (fluent English required).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Competent in the use of relevant systems/software.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Reliable, punctual, and proactive with a strong work ethic.
