Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Legal Assistant / Paralegal to join our friendly, close-knit team and support our qualified solicitors with a varied and rewarding caseload.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in law. It would suit a candidate who has studied law at college or further education, or someone with a genuine interest in developing a career within the legal profession. You may even have experience in another field but now want to specialise in a new sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing administrative support to qualified solicitors throughout the lifecycle of clinical negligence and medical claims.
• Preparing and organising legal documents and correspondence.
• Managing client files and ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
• Liaising with clients by telephone and in person, delivering a professional, compassionate and empathetic service.
• Scheduling appointments and assisting with diary management.
• Requesting, processing and maintaining medical records and other case documentation.
• Supporting the team with general office administration to ensure the smooth running of the practice.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates empathy, patience and professionalism when dealing with clients, many of whom may have experienced difficult circumstances.
• Is organised, accurate and able to manage a varied workload.
• Has good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Works well both independently and as part of a small, supportive team.
• Has studied law or is keen to build a long-term career in the legal sector (desirable but not essential).
• If you are looking for further development and wish to pursue a career further the client is willing to look at further study support.
