JDR Recruitment are recruiting for a Loading Shovel Driver for a recycling company based in Lancaster

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate loading shovel machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Load hoppers, conveyors, screening equipment, and processing plant with recyclable materials.
  • Move, stockpile, segregate, and manage waste and recyclable materials across site.
  • Load and unload vehicles in accordance with site procedures.
  • Carry out daily pre-start inspections and routine machine checks.
  • Complete defect reports and communicate maintenance requirements promptly.
  • Ensure materials are processed in accordance with quality and environmental standards.
  • Maintain safe traffic management practices on site.
  • Assist with general site operations, housekeeping, and maintenance activities.
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety, Environmental, and Company policies.
  • Support colleagues and assist in other operational duties as required.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience operating a loading shovel in a recycling, waste management, quarrying, construction, or similar environment.
  • Valid Loading Shovel Operator Certificate (NPORS, CPCS, MPQC or equivalent).
  • Good understanding of workplace health and safety.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible approach to work.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience within the recycling or waste management industry.
  • Telehandler, forklift, or plant operator licences.
  • Mechanical awareness and basic maintenance skills.
  • First Aid qualification.
  • Experience working with material processing equipment.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time, site-based role in Blackpool.
  • Outdoor working in all weather conditions.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and industrial equipment.
  • PPE must be worn at all times.
  • Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Loading Shovel Certification (NPORS/CPCS/Equivalent)

Shifts

Monday – Friday 7:30am-5:30pm

Pay Rate

£13.35 per hour
