JDR Recruitment is currently hiring on behalf of a leading and innovative recycling and waste management operation for an experienced Machine Operator to join their growing team.

This is an opportunity to work within one of the most advanced recycling facilities in the UK and Ireland, operating modern machinery in a fast-paced and safety-focused environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Machine Operator, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the facility, ensuring materials and vehicles are processed safely and efficiently.

Your duties will include:

✅ Operating forklifts, loading shovels, telehandlers, and other plant machinery
✅ Loading and unloading a range of vehicles
✅ Carrying out daily equipment checks and reporting defects
✅ Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment
✅ Following health & safety procedures and safe systems of work
✅ Supporting the wider operations team when required

Essential Requirements

✔ Valid Forklift Licence
✔ Experience operating a Loading Shovel
✔ Experience operating a Telehandler
✔ Previous experience working with plant machinery
✔ Good understanding of workplace health & safety
✔ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
✔ Flexible attitude towards working hours

Desirable

➕ Previous experience within recycling, waste management, or similar industries
