JDR Recruitment are recruiting for Picker / Packers to work for a large distribution company based in Skelmersdale

Job Purpose

To ensure accurate and efficient picking, packing, and dispatching of products within a warehouse or distribution centre, meeting company productivity and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Pick products from warehouse shelves based on order sheets or handheld scanners
Pack items securely and correctly to prevent damage during transit
Label and prepare orders for dispatch
Check quantities and product quality before packing
Maintain accuracy and meet daily picking/packing targets
Use warehouse equipment such as scanners, pallet trucks, or trolleys
Keep work area clean, organised, and compliant with health & safety standards
Report damaged or missing stock to supervisors
Assist with stock replenishment and inventory checks when required

Skills & Experience Required

Essential:

Good attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Basic numeracy and literacy skills
Reliable and punctual
Ability to follow instructions and procedures

Desirable:

Previous warehouse or picker/packer experience
Experience using handheld scanners or warehouse systems
Basic IT skills

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for long periods
Manual handling
Working in a warehouse environment

Working Hours

Pickers – Monday – Friday 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm
Packers – 9am-5pm

Salary

£12.71 per hour
