Initially, you will support the Planning Team with day‑to‑day operational tasks, learning how services are scheduled and delivered using Works Management and Dynamic Resource Scheduling (DRS) systems. With training and experience, there is the opportunity to progress into a full Planner role, taking on wider scheduling and coordination responsibilities.

This position is ideal for someone seeking a temp‑to‑perm opportunity. Please note that an application for the permanent role will be required when it is formally advertised.

Key Responsibilities

  • Navigating multiple systems to respond to enquiries and liaising with other departments to resolve issues
  • Managing team mailboxes and ensuring enquiries are actioned promptly
  • Providing relief planner support, including managing craft operatives and their DRS diaries
  • Supporting the wider Planning Team to ensure work is scheduled efficiently and customer expectations are managed
As you develop in the role, you will be supported to take on full Planning duties, including:
  • Scheduling and rescheduling works electronically to make best use of operative resources
  • Working closely with Managers, Operatives and Contractors to plan and prioritise work
  • Ensuring building safety and compliance‑related works are scheduled and monitored correctly
  • Liaising with contact centre colleagues to ensure emergency and health & safety repairs are completed within required timescales
  • Supporting continuous improvement of planning processes and performance monitoring

  • Remains calm and organised under pressure
  • Has a positive, can‑do approach to problem‑solving

  • Has good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Is confident using IT systems, including scheduling or works management tools (training provided)
  • Is committed to delivering a high standard of customer service
  • Is willing to work towards a permanent position
Experience in a customer‑focused, planning, scheduling, repairs or call‑handling environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
