Job Title: Supervisor – Crushing & Screening

Location: Pontyclun (May involve going to other sites around the UK)
Salary: £22 – £24 per hour
Hours: Approx. 50 hours per week + potential Saturday work

Overview

JDR Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Supervisor – Crushing & Screening to join a well-established operation within the quarrying and recycling sector. This is a hands-on supervisory role overseeing the day-to-day running of busy crushing and screening operations across multiple UK sites.

This position offers an immediate start, competitive hourly rate, and long-term opportunity with progression potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise crushing and screening teams, including operators and fitters
• Oversee daily site operations, ensuring plant runs efficiently and safely
• Plan workloads and report performance to management
• Ensure materials are produced to customer specifications
• Coordinate maintenance and ensure equipment is kept to a high standard
• Manage staffing, including training, absence, and performance
• Enforce health & safety policies and deliver toolbox talks
• Conduct inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification
• Ensure contractors and visitors follow site safety procedures
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
• Support continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives
• Provide cover for senior supervision when required

Requirements

Essential:

• Experience working with mobile plant in quarrying or similar environments
• Strong knowledge of crushing and screening operations
• SPA/MPQC Quarry Passport
• Ability to lead, organise, and work under pressure
• Strong commitment to health & safety
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

• Supervisory experience within quarry operations
• MPQC Level 3/4 or similar qualifications
• IOSH or other health & safety certifications
• Experience with a wide range of heavy plant and machinery
• First Aid qualification
• Welsh language skills (advantageous)
