Warehouse Operative

We are looking for Warehouse Operative on a permanent basis

Pay: £32,124.00 per annum

Location: Cullompton, Devon

Immediate start

Shift: Sunday – Thursday 5pm – 2am

JDR is recruiting for a Warehouse Operative to work in a warehouse in Cullompton, Devon.

The Role: As a Warehouse Operative you will be working within a chilled/ frozen warehouse environment and your duties will be Unloading/Loading Vehicles, booking in stock correctly from goods in & Collating/Picking Customer orders & all associated cleaning duties.

Duties:

• To carry out given duties/instructions by shift supervisor
• Accurately picking and collating stock in all departments Ambient, Freezer & Chiller.
• Checking in goods inwards.
• Checking vehicle temperatures before loading/Unloading.
• Loading/Unloading of vehicles in line with given instructions.
• Use of mechanical handling equipment in daily duties in safe and competent manner.
• To carry out any hygiene/maintenance related duty, or any other task deemed appropriate by the manager/shift supervisor in any part of the site.
• These together with all other duties associated with the effective and efficient running of the Warehouse area and other related areas.

• Take reasonable care of your own health and safety, as well as that of others who may be affected by your actions or omissions.

• Promptly report any hazards, unsafe practices, incidents, or near misses to your line manager or the Health & Safety team.

• Cooperate with management on all matters relating to health and safety, including attending mandatory training and following issued guidance or instructions.

• Use equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) properly and as instructed to minimise risk.

• Participate in risk assessments and contribute to the identification and control of workplace hazards.

• Support a culture of continuous improvement in workplace safety by actively engaging in health and safety initiatives and suggestions.

About You: As a Warehouse Operative you will have the following skills and experience:

• Able to work the shifts stated
• Warehouse experience
• Be able to work in freezer, Chilled & Ambient Departments
• Must be Flexible
• Attention to detail
• Reliable
• Good working attitude

Desirable:

• Counterbalance truck licence
• Reach Truck Licence
• H & S Training
• MHE experience
• Computer literate (word/excel)
• Flexibility
