Warehouse Operative

Job Purpose

To support the efficient operation of the distribution centre by receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching electrical products safely and accurately while maintaining high standards of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and unload deliveries safely and efficiently.
• Check incoming goods against delivery documentation.
• Pick customer orders accurately using handheld scanning equipment.
• Pack products securely for shipment.
• Load and unload vehicles in line with health and safety procedures.
• Move stock around the warehouse using manual handling equipment.
• Carry out stock checks and inventory counts when required.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
• Report damaged stock, equipment faults, or safety concerns promptly.
• Meet productivity and quality targets set by management.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.

• Able to follow instructions and health and safety procedures.

Desirable

• Previous warehouse or distribution experience.
• Experience using RF scanners or warehouse management systems.
• Forklift Truck (FLT) licence.
• Experience within a retail or logistics environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move products safely.
• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Working in a busy warehouse environment.

Working Hours

• 10am-10pm 4 on 4 off so does include some weekend work

Pay Rate

£12.76 per hour for the first 12 weeks

£12.87 per hour after 12 weeks
