Brampton on Swale

£19.54 per hour (inclusive of 20% shift allowance)

We are excited to be recruiting for an experienced Welder to join our steelworks client in the Brampton on Swale area. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity with an immediate start available. The client is a well established steel fabricator with clients across a huge range of industries and sectors.

What you’ll be doing –

• Structural steel welding of plates and section on a production line up to 100mm thick.
• Capable of using MAG 135 process equipment to produce single, multi run fillets and butts welds in the down hand position.
• Capable of carrying out visual inspections on the finished welds in accordance with the specification
• Correct use of grinders and associated consumables whilst adhering to the HAVS regulations
• Demonstrates commitment to HSEQ.
• Ensures that all relevant safe operating procedures are adopted in line with the company requirements.
• Works to production targets to ensure company deadlines are met.

What we’re looking for –

• Time served (or possess other equivalent qualifications) in MAG 135 manual welding.
• Experience of working with structural steel is essential
• Excellent understanding of welding codes and standards
• Understanding and use of overhead cranes and slinging techniques
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills as well as good knowledge of production processes and systems

Hours of work –

• Monday to Thursday: 2:30pm-11pm
• Friday: 2:30pm-8:30pm
• Saturday overtime available: paid at time and a half
