Accounting Technician – Belfast

Location: Castle Buildings, Belfast
Pay: Approx. £17.43 per hour + accountancy allowance where applicable
Hours: 37 hours | Monday-Friday
Contract: Temporary assignment – 6 October 2026 to 6 April 2027

JDR Recruitment is recruiting a qualified Accounting Technician for a Northern Ireland Civil Service assignment within The Executive Office Finance Division.

This is a varied financial reporting role covering month-end accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting and support with interim and year-end accounts.

The Role

You will:

• Prepare and upload month-end journals including accruals, prepayments and deferred income.

• Raise sales invoices and purchase orders.

• Complete bank reconciliations, petty cash and other banking transactions.

• Assist with monthly, interim and year-end accounts.

• Support audit preparation and variance analysis.

• Assist with fixed asset verification and IFRS 16 lease reconciliations.

• Deal with financial queries from internal teams and Arm’s Length Bodies.

Essential Criteria

Applicants must be:

• Fully qualified Accounting Technicians – ATI or equivalent.

Experience with Excel, Oracle Financial Systems and financial reporting would be particularly beneficial.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate will be required to complete the relevant pre-employment checks and obtain Standard security clearance before commencing the assignment.
