About the Opportunity
JDR Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading, award-winning construction and civil engineering organisation to recruit an experienced Bid Writer / Bid Coordinator. In this position, you will play a key role in the work-winning function, managing bids from early pre-qualification stages through to final submission. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external consultants to develop compelling, high-quality proposals that clearly align with client requirements.
Develop clear win strategies and plan structured, high-quality bid responses
Review PQQ and tender documentation to define submission approach and requirements
Conduct detailed research to support strong, evidence-based proposals
Lead assigned bids, including coordinating kick-off meetings and managing timelines
Produce, edit, and review clear, engaging, and client-focused tender submissions
Collaborate with technical teams and consultants to develop methodology and content
Prepare presentation materials and support client interviews where required
Maintain accurate bid records within internal systems and software
Monitor feedback and contribute to continuous improvement of bid processes
Visit project sites to gather insights and develop strong case studies
Highly motivated, proactive, and driven to deliver winning submissions
Strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
Well-organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
High attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy
Confident working both independently and within a team environment
Skilled in producing professional, engaging bid and presentation content
Proven experience delivering complex bids within construction or civil engineering
Strong track record in producing high-quality PQQs, tenders, and proposals
Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight submission deadlines
Proficient in Microsoft Office and presentation tools
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in bid writing within construction or civil engineering
Third-level qualification (desirable), ideally in a construction or engineering-related discipline
