Our client is a successful, family-run business based in the North West that is experiencing rapid growth following a number of major contract wins. Specialising in the installation, repair and maintenance of commercial door systems, automatic doors, electronic gates and barrier systems, they have built an excellent reputation for delivering exceptional service and keeping commercial entrances safe, secure and fully operational.

They are now looking to recruit an experienced Industrial Door Engineer to join their growing team.

The Role

Working from home and covering customer sites across the North West, you’ll be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of a wide range of automatic entrance systems. This is a varied role involving both planned maintenance and reactive call-outs across commercial and industrial sites.

You’ll work on a variety of premises including schools, offices, factories, retirement villages and high street retail outlets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, service and repair all types of automatic doors, including sliding, swing, revolving, bi-part and telescopic systems.
  • Attend customer sites to carry out fault finding, repairs, planned maintenance and installations.
  • Diagnose faults and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Advise customers of any potential equipment issues identified during service visits.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and to the highest standard.
  • Complete accurate job sheets and reports, maintaining effective communication with the administration team.
  • Ensure all work complies with current industry standards and company procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for additional repair or upgrade work where appropriate.
  • Deliver excellent customer service on every visit.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with automatic door systems.
  • Proven experience installing, servicing and repairing automatic doors.
  • ADSA/ADIA – BS7036 EN16005 qualification.
  • CSCS Blue Skilled Worker Card.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (maximum of 3 penalty points).
  • Able to pass a DBS check.
  • Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Professional, reliable and flexible approach to work.

Desirable

  • IPAF 3A & 3B.
  • PASMA certification.
  • DHF Shutters or Gates & Barriers qualification.
