Machining Technician

We are looking for a Machining Technician to join our growing client in the Taunton area.

Trainee £12.71 – £13.31 per hour – Level 2/3 Engineering

Technician £13.69 – £14.00 per hour – Previous machining experience & level 2/3 Engineering

Monday to Friday 8am-4pm (35 hours per week)

Immediate start

Temporary to Permanent contract or Permanent contract.

JDR is recruiting for a reliable and hardworking Machining Technician to join a client of ours in the Taunton area

The role:

As a Machining Technician your duties will be as followed:

• Operating machinery to cut, shape and process precision components.
• Mounting, cleaning and finishing components ready for inspection.
• Checking finished parts to ensure they meet quality specifications.
• Following engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Supporting general production duties and maintaining a clean, safe working environment.
• Following all Health & Safety and COSHH procedures.

About you:

As a Machining Technician you will have the following skills and experience:

• Engineering background
• Previous machining experience is desirable
• A Level 2 or Level 3 engineering qualification is preferred.
• Ability to follow engineering drawings and work instructions, or a willingness to learn.
• Good attention to detail and a positive attitude.
• An understanding of quality, Health & Safety and production standards.
• A willingness to learn and develop practical skills within a small team.
