As a Sales Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting sales activities through the preparation of high-quality tenders, technical proposals, quotations, and cost-effective engineering solutions.
Working closely with internal engineering, service, and production teams, you will ensure customer requirements are fully understood and delivered in the most commercially viable manner. You will be involved throughout the sales lifecycle, from opportunity identification and technical evaluation through to proposal submission and order conversion.
This is a highly visible role offering the opportunity to influence business growth, develop long-term client relationships, and contribute directly to the delivery of innovative energy projects.
Prepare high-quality technical tenders, quotations, proposals, and presentations
Evaluate customer requirements and develop commercially viable engineering solutions
Support the sales team in converting opportunities into profitable orders
Provide technical expertise throughout the bid and proposal process
Ensure all customer requirements are accurately reflected within proposals and submissions
Collaborate with service, engineering, and production teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically robust and commercially competitive
Review project specifications and technical documentation
Assess project risks, technical requirements, and operational considerations
Support the design, development, and technical management of energy projects
Assist in identifying innovative solutions that improve efficiency and customer outcomes
Manage multiple live opportunities and ensure timely submission of proposals
Maintain accurate records of opportunities, quotations, and customer interactions
Utilise CRM systems to track sales activities, proposal status, and project pipelines
Monitor market developments and competitor activity to ensure proposals remain competitive
Conduct research into emerging technologies, industry trends, and customer requirements
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, consultants, and stakeholders
Attend client meetings and provide technical support during project discussions
Act as a trusted advisor by providing expert guidance on engineering solutions
Support business growth through effective opportunity management and customer engagement
We are seeking an ambitious and commercially aware engineering professional who combines strong technical expertise with excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
Applicants must possess one of the following:
β Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role or equivalent
OR
β HND/HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role or equivalent
In addition, candidates must demonstrate:
β Considerable technical expertise in:
Power generation systems
Reciprocating engine technologies
Battery energy storage systems
Standby power solutions
Associated mechanical and electrical systems
Energy production and operational maintenance (O&M)
CDM regulations
Health & Safety compliance
β Proven experience in the successful design, technical management, and development of energy projects
β Strong commercial awareness and ability to deliver cost-effective technical solutions
β Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
β Experience using CRM systems to manage opportunities and track proposals
β Full, valid driving licence

β Organised and capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
β Analytical and solution-driven with excellent attention to detail
β Comfortable working collaboratively across technical, operational, and commercial teams
β Passionate about engineering innovation and sustainable energy technologies

Monday – Thursday: 8:30am – 5:00pm
Friday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
