JDR Recruitment is partnering with a leading engineering and energy solutions provider to recruit a skilled Service Engineer (Electrical).

As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, commissioning support, fault diagnosis, and system optimisation on a variety of power generation installations.
Working across customer sites, you will ensure equipment remains operational, efficient, and compliant while delivering exceptional levels of service and technical support.

Carry out planned preventative maintenance on electrical installations and power generation equipment
Respond to breakdowns and perform reactive maintenance activities
Diagnose and rectify electrical faults efficiently and safely
Complete service reports and maintenance documentation accurately
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures and safety standards
Fault-find and troubleshoot electrical control panels and associated systems
Interrogate, programme, and configure generator control systems
Identify root causes of electrical and control system failures
Support customers by providing technical advice and recommendations
Escalate complex technical issues where necessary
Monitor and improve operational performance of installed systems
Support efforts to improve efficiency, reliability, and productivity
Assist customers in reducing downtime and operational inefficiencies
Ensure installations operate to optimum performance levels
Deliver a high standard of customer service at all times
Build strong working relationships with clients and site personnel
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
Maintain company equipment, tools, and vehicles to a high standard
β ONC/D, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering
β Minimum of 3 years’ industrial electrical engineering experience
β Time-served Electrical Technician or Electrical Engineer
β Strong experience working with:
Electrical control systems
Industrial electrical installations
Power generation equipment
Electrical fault finding and diagnostics
β Proven ability to interrogate and programme:
ComAp Generator Controllers
Deep Sea Electronics (DSE) Generator Controllers
β Experience fault-finding electrical control panels
β Ability to read and interpret:
Electrical schematics
Control drawings
Technical design documentation
β Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages
β Full UK driving licence

Monday – Thursday: 8:30am – 5:00pm
Friday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
Participation in an established 24-hour call-out rota
Occasional weekend working
Out-of-hours attendance when required
