JDR are partnering with a well-established food manufacturing business to recruit a Technical Operator for their production team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring production equipment operates efficiently, quality standards are maintained, and production targets are achieved.

The Role

As a Technical Operator, you will be responsible for the operation, setup, monitoring, and basic maintenance of production machinery while supporting continuous improvement across the manufacturing process.

Working closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams, you will help ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to the required standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment safely and efficiently
• Complete machine setups, changeovers, start-ups and shutdowns
• Monitor machine performance and product quality throughout production runs
• Carry out quality and compliance checks in line with site procedures
• Identify faults and support troubleshooting activities to minimise downtime
• Work closely with Engineering teams to resolve equipment issues
• Maintain accurate production and quality records
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the production area
• Assist in training and supporting colleagues where required
• Contribute to a positive safety culture and adherence to site standards
• What We’re Looking For

Essential

• Previous experience operating machinery within a manufacturing environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills
• Flexible approach and willingness to learn
• Desirable
• Experience within food manufacturing or FMCG production
• HACCP awareness or food safety training
• Experience supporting or training colleagues
• Experience working with automated production equipment
• Understanding of continuous improvement principles
