Van Driver / Delivery Driver – Full Time

JDR Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Van Driver / Delivery Driver to join our client, a large and established window manufacturer based in the Ammanford area.

This is a full-time position combining driving with physical manual handling. You will be responsible for delivering window products to customers and sites, predominantly throughout South Wales.

Our client also operates a delivery route into Cornwall, which will need to be covered on a rota basis across the driving team.

The Role

Your duties will include:

• Driving a company van to complete scheduled deliveries

• Delivering windows and associated products to customers and sites

• Loading and unloading products safely

• Regular heavy manual handling and physical work

• Ensuring products are handled carefully to prevent damage

• Completing multiple drops depending on the scheduled route

• Carrying out vehicle checks and reporting any issues

• Communicating professionally with customers when completing deliveries

• Working closely with the warehouse and dispatch teams

• Following company health & safety procedures at all times

Hours

The standard working hours are:

Monday to Friday – 6:00am to 2:00pm

Candidates must be flexible, as some working days will finish later than 2:00pm depending on the location and number of deliveries scheduled.

The majority of deliveries will be throughout South Wales; however, drivers will also be required to cover the Cornwall route on a rota basis.

What We’re Looking For

The successful candidate will:

• Hold a full UK driving licence

• Be confident and experienced driving a van

• Be comfortable carrying out heavy, physically demanding work

• Be reliable and punctual, particularly for early morning starts

• Be flexible regarding finishing times when completing longer routes

• Be comfortable travelling longer distances when required

• Have good communication skills and a professional approach with customers

• Work well independently and as part of the wider delivery/warehouse team

Previous experience within multi-drop delivery, construction, windows, building products, warehousing or other physically demanding delivery roles would be advantageous.

This would suit someone looking for a full-time driving position who is happy to get involved with the physical side of loading and unloading rather than purely driving.
