Land-Based Engineering Instructor – Greenmount Campus

Location: Greenmount Campus, Antrim
Pay: Approx. £17.43 per hour
Hours: 37 hours | Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
Contract: Temporary assignment – 5 October 2026 to 30 June 2027

JDR Recruitment is recruiting a Land-Based Engineering Instructor for a Northern Ireland Civil Service assignment with DAERA at CAFRE Greenmount Campus.

The successful candidate will deliver practical instruction to students completing a Level 3 Land-Based Engineering course, covering the maintenance, diagnosis and safe operation of agricultural and land-based machinery.

The Role

You will:

• Deliver practical Land-Based Engineering instruction to students.

• Teach technical skills in line with the course curriculum.

• Demonstrate engine overhaul, servicing and maintenance techniques.

• Support diagnostic testing and fault-finding.

• Deliver practical instruction in hydraulic system maintenance.

• Promote the safe operation and maintenance of agricultural machinery.

Essential Criteria

Applicants must have:

• At least 4 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including English and Mathematics, or equivalent.

AND

One of the following:

• Level 3 Extended Diploma in Land-Based Engineering, Land-Based Technology or Agricultural Mechanisation.

• Level 3 qualification in Motor Vehicle Studies.

• An equivalent relevant qualification.

AND

• At least 1 year’s relevant experience in land-based engineering, agricultural engineering, automobile engineering or another relevant engineering role.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate will be required to complete the relevant pre-employment checks and obtain Enhanced security clearance.

Occasional overtime may also be available to support student extra-curricular activities.
