Lead Fitter

We’re looking for an experienced Lead Fitter for our client based in Gateshead, to travel across the UK and Ireland.

About the role: You’ll lead the on-site installation of a variety of signage – including illuminated signs, fascia signs, vinyl and window graphics, and totems – working from technical drawings and client specifications. You’ll be the main point of contact for clients on site, carry out site surveys, and safely operate tools, access equipment and machinery, including work at height. As Lead Fitter, you’ll also supervise and mentor a Fitter’s Mate, allocating tasks and ensuring safe working practices are followed throughout.

This is a permanent role from day one

Salary: £15.50 per hour (overtime at time and a half after 38 hours)

Experience Required: Experience in sign installation, shopfitting or similar, ability to read technical drawings and measurements, strong communication, experience with power tools, and be comfortable working outdoors and at height. (Experience of working on petrol stations would be preferable, but not a necessity).

Essential Requirements:
· Full UK driving licence
· CSCS card
· Flexibility to travel and work throughout the UK and Ireland including overnight stays when required.
· Flexibility to work out of hours in line with client requirements.

Highly Desirable Factors:
· IPAF licence and PASMA
· Electrical experience
