MIG Welder – Newport

Pay Rate: £13.71 per hour
Job Type: Temp to Perm
Hours: Monday-Thursday 06:30-16:00, Friday 06:30-13:00

JDR Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced MIG Welder to join their manufacturing team in Newport on a temp-to-perm basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a long-term position, with the potential to secure a permanent role following a successful temporary period.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Carrying out MIG welding on very light and mild steel
• Mainly performing spot welding and small welds
• Using a grinder to finish welds and achieve a flush, clean finish
• Using a range of hand tools and workshop equipment
• Checking finished work to ensure it meets the required quality standards
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment

About You

We are looking for candidates who have:

• A minimum Level 1 Welding qualification
• Previous MIG welding experience
• Experience working with light/mild steel
• Good attention to detail and pride in producing a quality finish
• Experience using grinders, basic presses and other hand tools
• Excellent attention to detail
• A reliable and hardworking attitude
• The ability to work well as part of a team

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 06:30-16:00
Friday: 06:30-13:00

£13.71 per hour
