Are you a Semi-Skilled Fitter with hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, fitting or manufacturing?
We’re currently recruiting for two Semi-Skilled Fitters to join a busy manufacturing operation in Lisburn.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with tools, machinery and mechanical components and wants to put their practical skills to use in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
The positions are expected to run for approximately 6 months, with the potential to continue for longer depending on business requirements.
Working as part of the manufacturing team, you’ll assist with the assembly, fitting and preparation of specialist equipment.
Your duties will include:
Assisting with the assembly and fitting of mechanical components.
Moving and positioning components and equipment.
Carrying out general fitting and stripping duties.
Drilling, cutting and grinding as required.
Assisting with welding and other workshop activities.
Measuring and fitting components and hoses.
Lifting and shifting equipment safely.
Supporting the production team with day-to-day tasks.
Working to relevant methods, instructions and safety procedures.
Maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship.
Keeping the workshop and working areas clean, tidy and organised.
Working as part of a team to ensure production deadlines are achieved.
The role is hands-on and varied, so we’re looking for someone who is happy to get stuck in and support the wider manufacturing operation.
The responsibilities are based on the supplied fitter specification, but have been adapted to reflect the semi-skilled and temporary nature of the position.
You don’t necessarily need to be a fully qualified Fitter.
We’re looking for someone with practical mechanical or manufacturing experience who is confident using hand tools and carrying out basic fitting and assembly work.
Ideally, you’ll have:
Previous experience in a mechanical, fitting, engineering or manufacturing environment.
Experience using hand tools and workshop equipment.
Some experience with drilling, cutting and grinding.
A good understanding of workplace health & safety.
The ability to follow instructions and work safely.
Good attention to detail.
A reliable and hardworking attitude.
The ability to work as part of a team.
A willingness to learn and take on new tasks.
Experience with lifting and shifting heavy equipment would be advantageous.
Monday-Thursday: 8:00am-5:00pm
Friday: 8:00am-1:00pm
Duration: Approximately 6 months, with potential for longer-term work depending on business requirements.
This is a great opportunity to gain further experience within a busy manufacturing environment while working alongside an experienced production team.
If you’re practical, reliable and looking for a hands-on temporary opportunity, we’d love to hear from you.
We’re looking to fill these positions urgently, so if you’re available and interested in the Semi-Skilled Fitter role in Lisburn, apply now and a member of our recruitment team will be in touch.
