Agriculture Lecturer – Higher Education

Location: Greenmount Campus, Antrim
Pay Rate: £21.35 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9.00am-5.00pm
Contract: Temporary Agency Assignment
Start Date: 5 October 2026
Expected End Date: 30 June 2027

JDR Recruitment is recruiting an Agriculture Lecturer to support the delivery of Higher Education programmes within DAERA Agriculture Education at Greenmount Campus.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Agriculture graduate who is interested in education and working with undergraduate students within a specialist agricultural learning environment.

The Role

The successful candidate will support the delivery and assessment of full-time undergraduate agriculture courses.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the delivery of full-time undergraduate courses.

• Assessing student learning and coursework.

• Monitoring student attendance.

• Assisting with the supervision of BSc degree projects.

• Acting as a tutor to students.

• Providing pastoral support where required.

• Attending education team meetings.

• Undertaking other appropriate duties in line with the needs of CAFRE and DAERA.

Essential Qualification

Applicants must hold:

A minimum 2:1 BSc degree in Agriculture or a closely related subject.

Desirable Experience

Previous experience of:

• Delivering education or training courses.

• Teaching or supporting undergraduate students.

• Assessing student learning.

Additional Requirements

The successful candidate must have access to a form of transport which enables them to meet the travel requirements of the role in full.

The appointment will also be subject to the relevant pre-employment checks and Enhanced security clearance.
